Welcome to Kings Kingdom!
June 15th, 2009 | by larryyocum |Welcome to the blog home of the Sacramento Kings.
My name is Larry Yocum and I’ll be your informational source on all things Kings. I’ve grown up a Sacramento Kings fan and was even a season ticket holder at one time and I’m looking forward to covering the team on a regular basis. Game six still hurts and I don’t want to talk about it. I love the cowbell and there is nothing like the frenzied Arco crowd when their team is winning. Unfortunately, things have gotten a little stale lately as a poor team, four new coaches in four years, and stalled talks of a new arena have taken their toll on the Arco faithful. Better days are ahead, even if the ping pong ball doesn’t always bounce our way. I just have to keep the hope alive.
Not only am I a Kings fan, but I am a basketball junkie and I currently write on a regular basis as an associate editor at www.fanball.comand I covered the Top 50 Players throughout the NBA on a weekly basis this season in my article, The Fastbreak: Top 50. My most recent work includes the early rankings at each position for 2010 and a discussion of the top free agents to hit the market. It is paid content for Owner’s Edge subscribers, so I am unable to provide a link.
When I’m not covering sports over at Fanball, I’m a full-time history teacher and cover U.S. History, World History, American Government and Economics at the high school level. Being a historian makes for an easy transition to analyzing sports and writing as I was trained in all the proper research tools and have a pretty decent memory. You may also see me posting in a fantasy forum or two under the username of “The Czar” as it seemed like an appropriate moniker for a guy that is obsessed with Russian history. So, please allow “The Czar” tell you about the Kings on a regular basis and check back here often as I take you through the summer and into the 2009-10 season.
I’m going to keep this post nice as short as, just like the Kings, I have a lot of work to do to get this blog up and running to the level that I’m looking for. Join me tommorrow as I take an in-depth look at the new man running the ship for the Kings and profile the coaching career of Paul Westphal and discuss the road ahead for the new coach.

Thanks Dan. Yeah, it will be fun to cover them on a regular basis for the site. I just hope that they can get it rolling again. It’s been a tough couple of years.
